Performance Skills
The aerial and acrobatic company, Heir of Insanity was established by Julia Dixey and Simon Schofield in the Spring of 1995. Both with backgrounds in new circus, their aim was to fuse the skills of circus with the harmony of dance and expression of theatre.
Having started with an acrobatic balancing routine and a doubles trapeze routine, they acquired a rotating podium and a trapeze rig and quickly became known on the circuit for producing fresh and innovative shows with a high skill level whilst also retaining a strong sense of individuality.

Simon Schofield, the longest standing member of Heir of Insanity is an established performer. With skills as diverse as acrobatics, aerial and accountancy, Simon also creates and designs everything from free-standing structures to flight cases.
In 1998 Mark Tate joined the Company for a wonderful time, adding his uniquely creative, dramatic and captivating style and skills. We still work closely with Mark, performing some of his characters; our Satyrs; as well as bespoke shows.
At the end of 2002, Julia left the company to start a family in Italy. She has since co-founded the international circus arts company 'Apus'. A company well worth looking out for.
In January 2003, Gina D'Angelo joined, bringing an amazing array of talent to the company. With a background in dance, gymnastics, choreography and theatre, Gina has enriched Heir of Insanity's performances and productions with grace, movement and style.
With such wide experience, Heir of Insanity is also able to offer Performance Production services, including co-ordination, creation, design, choreography and direction. Coupled with their acts, aerial rigs, acrobatic podiums, inflatable sets and PA system, an assortment of shows, services and support are always available.
